Event Guidelines

 

These Event Guidelines (the “Event Guidelines”) apply to any Events hosted by Women In Product. In order to reserve a ticket and attend an Event, you are required to acknowledge and accept these Event Guidelines, the Women In Product Terms of Service, and the Women In Product Privacy Policy. Any capitalized terms used in these Event Guidelines that are not defined herein will have the meanings provided in the Women In Product Terms of Service. Women In Product reserves the right to change these Event Guidelines from time to time and such changes will be effective immediately upon publication, on a going forward basis. Additional terms, guidelines, or policies may apply to specific Events, and such additional terms, guidelines, and policies may be made available to you by us or one of our third-party partners (such as a venue or additional Event sponsor).  By attending an Event, you are hereby agreeing to comply with and be bound by all applicable Event terms, and you are responsible for reviewing all applicable terms prior to attending an Event.

  • Admission. You are required to reserve a ticket to attend an Event. Prices for tickets may vary. Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to attend our Events. We reserve the right to accept or decline your admission for any reason, without any liability to you. Further, we reserve the right to prohibit entry or remove any person whose conduct is not in keeping with the Terms and the character and purpose of Women In Product or for any reason, in our sole discretion, to protect any person, property, or the reputation of Women In Product. To verify ticketed event attendees, we may require you to present proof of your ticket prior to admission to an Event. 
  • Use of Information.  We or our Event partners may use information you provide to send you updates on Events and other applicable information in accordance with our and their privacy policies, and you hereby consent to such communications.
  • Refunds; Ticket Transfers. Except as otherwise expressly set forth in writing by us, Event tickets are non-refundable, non-cancelable, and non-transferable. In certain limited scenarios, we may permit the transfer of tickets to another guest, in which case you must submit the name and contact information of such guest to us for prior approval, which approval will be at our sole and absolute discretion. The guest you transfer your ticket to must accept individually accept these Terms for the ticket transfer to be valid. Noncompliance with these rules or any other section of these Terms, by either you or your guest, may result in suspension or termination of both your rights and privileges in connection with an Event or Women In Product. 
  • Changes to Events and Cancellations. For reasons beyond our reasonable control, it may be necessary for us to change or cancel our Events. We reserve the right to alter the advertised speaker, content, timing, and/or location of our Events at any time. If we alter the time and/or location of an Event, we will provide you with prompt notice and offer you the choice of (a) credit for a future Event (up to the value of sums you paid for the altered Event), or (b) the opportunity to attend the altered Event. 
  • Expected Behavior. Women In Product is committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all Event attendees, free from discrimination for any reason including on the basis of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, age, and religion. We invite you to help us realize a safe and positive Event experience for everyone. At each Event, you agree to be considerate, respectful, collaborative, and mindful of those around you. 
      1. Unacceptable Behavior. Unacceptable behavior includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct; offensive verbal comments including as related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, age, or religion; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Some Event venues are shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.
      2. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If you are found to engage in unacceptable behavior, we may take any action we deem appropriate, at our sole discretion, up to and including expulsion from the Event without warning or refund.
      3. When to Alert Us. Please alert a staff member or contact us at info@womenpm.org as soon as possible if you are subject to unacceptable behavior or notice that someone else is being subject to or engaging in unacceptable behavior. We encourage you to always reach out if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress. We will try, if requested, to keep all reports confidential except to the extent required by applicable law, rule, regulation, or legal process. We will determine and carry out the course of action we believe to be appropriate and will be available to help Event attendees experiencing unacceptable behavior feel safe for the duration of the Event. If requested, a follow-up report will be made to individuals who report being harassed.
  • Appearance and Publicity Release. You understand that the Events may be filmed, recorded, or photographed for use in our social media, public relations/advertisements, and for other business purposes. By entering into these Terms and attending an Event, you hereby:
  • 6.1 consent to the Released Parties filming, photographing and/or recording you, with or without any retouching or alteration, without restriction, by audio or visual recording technique, (the foregoing and any portions thereof, the “Recordings”) and using such Recordings, including your image, likeness, name voice, video, and other information (collectively, “Likeness”) incorporated in the Recordings, in social media, public relations/advertisements, and other business purposes and grant full permission to the Released Parties to store, use, reproduce, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and otherwise exploit the Recordings (including, but not limited to, for resizing, color correction, or digital reformatting) in any media now known or later developed without your further consent or any further consideration; 
  • 6.2 acknowledge and agree that you will not receive any payment from us in connection with such use and waive your right to any compensation related to such use; 
  • 6.3 grant the Released Parties the unlimited right throughout the world in perpetuity to use the Recordings, including your Likeness incorporated therein, and waive your moral rights therein; 
  • 6.4 waive any right to inspect or approve the use of the Recordings; and 
  • 6.5 release and shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claims, damages or liability arising from or related to the use of the Recordings, including but not limited to claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or rights of publicity or copyright infringement, or any misuse, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion or use in composite form that may occur or be produced in taking, processing or producing the finished product or its publication or distribution, or its publication or distribution. It is Women In Product’s intention that any derivative works will continue to reflect accurately the character and spirit of Women In Product and your participation in the Events. 
  • Acknowledgement. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT PARTICIPATION IN AND ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENTS MAY INVOLVE CERTAIN RISKS WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS, INCLUDING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH; WHETHER ARISING FROM YOUR OWN ACTIONS, THOSE OF OTHERS, FROM THE CONDITION OF THE FACILITIES OR PREMISES, OR ACTS OF NATURE. YOU ARE VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN AND ATTENDING THE EVENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGERS INVOLVED AND AGREE TO ACCEPT ALL RISKS OF PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE. YOU KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, BOTH KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES AND ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION IN AND ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENTS. YOU AGREE TO ABIDE BY AND COMPLY WITH ANY POSTED RULES RELATING TO ANY OF THE EVENTS, INCLUDING THESE TERMS. YOU AGREE TO USE THE UTMOST CAUTION AND CARE TO AVOID INJURY OR DAMAGE TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS. YOU FURTHER AGREE THAT PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN AND ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENTS, YOU WILL INSPECT THE EVENT LOCATION AND FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED, AND IF YOU BELIEVE ANYTHING IS UNSAFE, YOU WILL IMMEDIATELY CEASE TO PARTICIPATE AND WILL INFORM THE RELEASED PARTIES.
  • These Event Guidelines, the Women In Product Terms of Service, and the Women In Product Privacy Policy together constitute the entire and exclusive understanding and agreement between you and Women In Product regarding your attendance of the Events.
  • Governing Law and Dispute Resolution. These Event Guidelines are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the Women In Product Terms of Service, including the binding arbitration.
